Tennessee House District 83 – 2026

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I was born in Memphis and raised in 83. I’m a mother, a worker, a neighbor, and someone deeply invested in the future of this city and the communities who live here.

​

Growing up, I benefited from the opportunities my parents’ generation created: affordable education, stable, fulfilling jobs, and a chance to build the life I had grown up in. But for my generation, and for our children, those same opportunities are becoming harder to come by. I want to help turn those tides, and fight for a future that works for everyone in District 83, as well as our neighbors.

That is why I’m running to represent you.

​

I believe strong communities are built by people who show up. I’ve spent my life doing that: helping communities access opportunity via my work with nonprofits, supporting local businesses and government, and connecting diverse communities to the resources they needs to thrive. I’ve seen what works when people are heard, supported, and empowered, and I’m ready to bring that approach to Shelby County.

Education & Opportunity
Our public schools are the heart of our neighborhoods. Families choose District 83 because they want a better future for their kids. I will fight for:

• Fully funded public schools and opportunities for every child

• Competitive pay and retention for teachers

• Career and technical education that prepares students for the jobs of today and tomorrow
   

Community Infrastructure & Smart Growth
As our district grows, we need leadership that plans for the future without leaving anyone behind. I support:

• Investment in roads, utilities, and broadband without exploitation of our neighbors and communities

• Responsible growth that protects our neighborhoods

• Housing policies that keep homes affordable and families rooted
   

Good Governance & Accountability
Our district deserves leaders who listen, act responsibly, and lead with integrity. I will bring honesty, transparency, and accountability to our district; not political theater or division. I believe we can achieve real progress when we work together: guided by data, grounded in kindness, and focused on building a stronger, fairer community for everyone.

I’m running because I love this community: its grit, generosity, diversity, and resilience. I know we can do better, and I am ready to get down to business to refocus on the future we all deserve.
